It is recommended to use a high-quality knife only on a proper sharpening-friendly cutting board. The advantage of a wood fiber board is not only the preservation of the knife blade, but also the maintenance-free and moisture resistance. A cutting board made of biopulp can be safely washed in the dishwasher and does not need to be sanded or oiled like a traditional solid wood board. The board is noticeably thinner than traditional wooden boards and may feel hard under the knife at first, but softens quickly in use, and is more knife-friendly than a plastic cutting board. The heat resistance of compressed wood fiber is also significantly higher than that of a traditional wooden board, so it can be used as a pan trivet without worry.
